I leased a £2,000 piece of equipment in a desperate situation—recovering from injury, van broken down, struggling to keep the business going. The leasing sounded straightforward, but I ended up paying over £3,500—rent, documentation fees, compulsory insurance, and a final title transfer charge. Roughly 80–100% APR, if you do the math.
I wasn’t expecting to be caught in such a costly arrangement. The insurances, paperwork, and “peppercorn” fee felt hidden until too late. They’re happy to say “you signed the terms,” but that doesn’t help when you were just trying to survive.
I won’t use or recommend them again—small businesses deserve better transparency.
